Sona's hot announcements to media

It has become habitual for Sizzling Busty Sona to astonish people and particularly people in the film industry. Sona usually steams up the screen by flaunting her voluptuous assets with her shimmy movements and oozing smiles to gratify the audience. What astonishes people in the film industry is not her hot and steamy performance but her hot announcements. What’s up? Scroll down to catch the details.

You all know Sona hosted a Mega Party in January 2010 in ‘The Park’ Hotel for celebrating the 1st Year Anniversary of her ‘UniQ Boutique Shop’. The prominent directors who attended the party among other celebrities were Directors KS Ravikumar, Lingusamy and Venkat Prabhu.
You would have seen in the stills taken at the party Sona hugging Venkat Prabhu and Premji Amaran. At that time, Sona announced that she would produce movies under her ‘UniQ’ banner shortly. Everybody thought that it is one of her innovative ways to gain publicity. Recently she announced her first film ‘2010 Bhagyaraj' under ‘UniQ Productions’ banner. Thirumalairajan who is a part of Venkat Prabhu’s Think Tank is debuting as the director. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music. Premji is the hero and Mumbai model Ankitha is the heroine and the film is a comic thriller.

News says Sona is the producer of the movie ‘Kanimozhi’ announced last week partnering with Amma Creations. She is going to announce one more movie under the direction of Venkat Prabhu soon. It seems she also requested director KS Ravikumar to direct a film for her UniQ banner. There are gossips that she may be a ‘pinami’, as colloquially called in Tamil, of Politicians, industrialists or film producers while others say she may be earning through the ‘famous trade’ some heroines do. Whatever be the talk of the town, through these film production announcements, Sona has been trying to establish herself as a successful business woman concealing her bad image and she has been successful in keeping everybody who doubts about her sources of income in guessing.

Media is minting money by blowing Ranjitha & Nithyananda hot video issue

One Day. One Video Show. It rocked the life of Modern Age Guru Paramahamsa Nithyananda and Actress Ranjitha upside down. That Sex Tape made people also forget Mullai Periyar Dam problem, Telangana problem, Inflation and hike in price of essential commodities, Budget implications and even their own personal problems. Ranjitha and Nithyananda have become the hottest keywords in search engines. Everybody is very keen in learning latest updates of this scandal and media is encashing this opportunity by publishing latest updates daily. The latest news (rumour?) is Ranjitha is in America now. Scroll down to catch the details.

Debuting in ‘Nadodi Thendral’ in 1992, Ranjitha acted in 50+ films in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu till 1999. She briefly retired from acting after marrying Rakesh Menon. To divert her mood from her family problems and her personal health problems, she returned to film industry in 2001 and she had been acting in supporting roles in films and lead roles in TV serials. At this juncture, she came to know about Nithyananda and visited him along with her husband. She says Nithyananda cured her prolonged wheezing problem in a single day. Then she became Nithyananda’s disciple and started staying in his Ashram itself and accompanying him to abroad. She accepts her presence in the sex video but claims that as a true devotee she offered her service like feeding food and medicines and massaging his legs. She strongly denied the rumour that Ranjitha herself created the tape associating with Lenin Karuppan to blackmail Nithyananda. Scroll down to know where she moved after the telecast of Sex Scandal Video.

Ranjitha was in her T.Nagar flat only when the sex scam video telecasted on Sun TV. Her phone started ringing ceaselessly after the flash of the video. She then started at 11 O’clock on that night and went to Nithyananda’s friend’s house in Mumbai. Through that Mumbai friend she reached the hide out of Nithyananda on the next day afternoon. Nithyananda consoled her and appointed a team of five persons to escort her. With the help of his overseas disciples, Nithyananda moved Ranjitha to America and she is now in the custody of his disciples in America. It seems she will return home only after Nithyananda’s arrival at Bangalore. Kumudam Reporter which published her telephonic interview said she was in Kerala when they interviewed her. Now, the media says they have ascertained through investigative journalism that she is in America. Media is minting money by blowing the issue. Politicians are happy as people’s attention is diverted. People are condemning this issue publicly but enjoying it secretly. One thing is sure. This issue will run only till the next big scam occupies public attention.

Namitha craze coming to end with Azhagana Ponnuthan?

It was once the theatres went houseful even Namitha makes cameo or guest appearance in films. Today even if she appears in every frame with seducing glamourous costumes, theatres are empty. Even her die-hard fans have not been seen in theatres. Yes. Yet another big disappointment for Namitha as her latest release ‘Azhagana Ponnuthan’ failed in box office and it joins the list of her recent failures Indira Vizha, Jaganmohini, Nil Gavani Kathali. Why her much awaited films fail one by one even though they are Namitha-centric films and it contains her full-fledged glamour? Before we get into that analysis, let us first see Azhagana Ponnuthan’s story in a nutshell.

Director Thiru has stolen the story of ‘Azhagana Ponnuthan’ from the 1971 classic ‘Summer of 42’. In ‘Summer of 42’, the film starts where the hero recollects his teenage and the summer vacation he spent in his village. There he has a one-sided romance with a woman who is much older to him, whose husband had gone off to fight the Second World War. Similarly, ‘Azhagana Ponnuthan’ starts with actor Parthiban recollecting that one woman for whom he developed an infatuation during his teens. The locale shifts to Kodaikanal where Karthik (Kartheesh) a student during his vacation falls madly in one-sided love with Jennifer (Namitha). Till interval the film is all about hero Kartheesh imagining romantic interludes and meetings with Jennifer laced with dream songs. Post interval Karthik goes loony due to his deep and passionate love for her. The rest of the film becomes a sob story as Jennifer is driven out of the place as the local women think she is out to seduce their husbands. ‘Summer of 42’ is considered as a classic because of the chemistry between Gary Grimes who played the 15 year old hero lusting after Jennifer O’Neil. ‘Azhagana Ponnuthan’ has been remade crudely with lots of unnecessary melodrama and ladies sentiments in the climax. There is no passion and the whole story is narrated as the hero’s imagination.

Believing the hype created by media, Namitha did not want to shed her ‘oomph girl’ tag and she went on to act in pickle roles in films viz. Sandai, Pandi, Perumal, Thee, 1977, etc. She was not choosy when she was at peak and did not try risky plots. The reason for failure of much awaited Namitha-centric films viz. Indira Vizha, Jaganmohini, Nil Gavani Kathali and Azhagana Ponnuthan is they were under production for too longer period for various reasons. So, there were continuity problems in Namitha’s make-up in these films. In some scenes, she looked slim & cute and in some other scenes, she looked plump & mature. Even Sundar.C who earlier used Namitha in all his films now prefers ‘Indira Vizha’ fame ‘tender chicken’ Hemamalini alias Sruthi Prakash. As I wrote already in this site, it is high time for Namitha to reform her thoughts and portray good roles under good directors to reach the top again.
