What a great idea Lakshmi Rai?

The news “Lakshmi Rai is very happy about M S Dhoni's marriage” brought a big grin in my face. You may wonder why?

When everybody was calling Kamal Hassan as ‘Oscar Naayagan’ thinking that he is the only potential guy who could win Oscar for Tamil Cinema, all of a sudden A R Rehman seized that title from Kamal after getting Oscar for ‘Slum Dog Millionaire’. Though Kamal feels proud about A R Rehman for winning Oscar, he would have definitely felt very sad personally as he can no longer use that title till he really gets it. Similarly, the sudden marriage of Dhoni would have definitely hurt Lakshmi Rai as she no longer call Dhoni as her boyfriend and get publicity. But she feels happy. Why?

You all know about Belgaum Beauty Lakshmi Rai’s Smart Moves to be in the spotlights of media and general public. She knows how to gel with heroes, get publicity and grab offers. It was in December 2009 Lakshmi Rai said she and Mammootty are thick friends and Mammootty is recommending her in Mollywood. Though Mammootty was tight-lipped about this, her statement won her 4 new Malayalam film offers viz. Christian Brothers, Makeup Man, Casanova and Yodha 2.

The latest talk on net is Lakshmi Rai has become pet of Raghava Lawrence! They both acted together in ‘Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam’. Then, they danced together for a song in Kalaignar’s ‘Pen Singam’. News says she became pet of Lawrence during shooting of these two films which yielded her the chance to pair Lawrence as one of the two heroines in ‘Kanchana’, a sequel of Muni. Now, you would have clearly understood how Lakshmi Rai uses celebrities as a tool to be under limelight and grab offers. Day before yesterday, it was Mammootty! Till Yesterday Dhoni! Today Raghava Lawrence! Now you know why I laughed!

Namitha – Secret behind Suicide Gossip Unveiled!

As you all aware, a gossip does not arise on its own. If you closely follow the gossip thread, to your surprise, the person gossiped may be the creator of the gossip.

Recently there was a hot gossip on net that Buxom babe Namitha attempted to commit suicide and later her PRO confirmed that Namitha is safe and it was a rumour only. Though it was evident that it was a baseless rumour, her fans went crazy and they could not even bear that false news. Initially Namitha too furiously said that she will not hesitate to take legal action against those who spread such baseless rumours. After that, she did not pursue the issue and neglected it. Now, the Secret is Out!

Why Namitha did not pursue that gossip issue further is because that gossip was spread purposely by her close relatives only. A famous Tamil biweekly revealed in its current issue that the suicide gossip was deliberately spread by Namitha’s close relatives as per an astrologer’s advice to dispel the supposed effects of the blight of the eye (In Tamil, we call it as ‘Dirushti kazhitthal’). Followed by this, a ‘special pooja’ also performed in a temple in Rajasthan for Namitha.

Whether they are dispelling the blight of the eye or performing pooja, one thing is sure. Namitha has got the publicity she wanted. After continuous failure of her films, she has been almost off the silver screen and news. She has got only one Tamil film, ‘Ilaignan’, in her hand and that too she is portraying a negative role. She is seen on Kalaignar TV only once in a week. What a pathetic situation for this 2nd most searched actress in Google in 2008 to resort to such cheap publicity to be in news. Let’s wish Sizzling Siren Namitha to revive from the present situation and become the Sex Diva of the Southern Cine Circuit again!

Why Anushka refuse to act with Silambarasan?

2010 is turning out well for Anushka! While her recent Telugu releases ‘Vedam’ becomes super-duper hit and appreciated by A Class audiences, her ‘Panchakshari’ becomes successful in B and C Centres of AP. Anushka also tasted her first success in Tamil through ‘Singam’. What would be her next move? Does she have any hidden agenda? Scroll down to catch them!

‘Vedam’ is a multiple story film where all the stories converge into the climax of the movie. Five persons from different backgrounds come to the city with different selfish motives. How they unite and the transformation of characters from having selfish goal to do selfless service has been narrated grippingly in the climax.

In Vedam, Anushka titillates the audience in the prostitute role named Amalapuram Saroja. She oozed sexiness and effused the vulnerability and innocence needed for the character. Super Good Films bought the remake rights of ‘Vedam’ in Tamil and they already booked Silambarasan aka Simbu as the hero. They approached Anushka to portray the same prostitute role in the Tamil remake too but Anushka refused the offer. She refused because Simbu is the hero and whoever pairs him would be gossiped together? Or to disprove the old gossip that says they both are in love already?

One more buzz from the rumour mills says that Anushka aims at Number One position in Tamil defeating Tamannah! That’s why she shifted her dwelling to Chennai and she is very choosy in signing Tamil films. Her character in ‘Kanchana’, a sequel of ‘Muni’, opposite Raghava Lawrence is specially designed for her powerfully and her next project ‘Mangatha’ opposite ‘Thala’ Ajith and Venkat Prabhu combination reveals how choosy she is. So, she is perfectly towards her goal in Kollywood. At this juncture, she may not want to spoil her name by playing prostitute character in Tamil. U.S. Management Consultant Peter Drucker rightly said “Promotion should not be more important than accomplishment, or avoiding instability more important than taking the right risk.”

Priyamani upset about Rape Sentiment

It seems Priyamani is in annoyed mood nowadays. Normally gossips about their personal life irritate heroines. Contrary to this, a talk in the film industry related to her profession aggravated Priyamani. Does not this sound interesting? Scroll down to catch what annoyed her!

A famous Tamil portal recently published that a talk in the Kollywood about a sentiment involving Priyamani annoyed her. You would have heard about ‘Mother Sentiment’, ‘Sister Sentiment’ and ‘Village Sentiment’ in films. A latest addition to the above list is ‘Rape Sentiment’. The talk goes like this: In the climax scene of ‘Paruthi Veeran’, a gang brutally rapes Priyamani and that scene was widely talked. Similarly, in the recent release ‘Raavanan’ also a group of Policemen brutally rape Priyamani and that scene too grabbed the attention of the mass and widely talked. So, there is a perfect match between Rape Scene and Priyamani and she is best suited for such scenes. On hearing this talk, Priyamani was upset and she was extremely displeased as to how people talk like this about a heroine.

Recently Priyamani alleged that Tamil cinema producers and directors are neglecting her even though she won National Award for Best Actress. She claimed that she is not the only actress portraying glamourous roles and she does glamourous roles and wears bikini costumes as it suits her. Her current projects are Rakta Charitra(Hindi, Tamil & Telugu), Pranchiyettan and The Saint(Malayalam) and Eno Onthara(Kannada).

National Award for Paruthi Veeran became a big burden on Priyamani as people in the film industry thought that she would do only meaty roles thereafter. So, she did not even get normal heroine roles of shaking legs with heroes. To break this thought, she started portraying extremely glamourous roles to grab more offers(Her bikini appearance in Drona crossed all boundaries). But her extreme glamourous portrayals have created a negative impact on her. That’s why she is short of opportunities and she has no point in alleging anybody for her mistake.

Anushka pairs Lawrence in Kanchana

Luscious Beauty Anushka was utilized as a glam doll alone till her blockbuster movie Arundhati. Her role as Jejamma in the royal attires and her superb performance changed her fate. From thereon, she started getting offers for heroine-centric flicks.

After the flop of her debut Tamil movie, Rendu in 2006, Anushka concentrated in Telugu movies alone. After the super-duper hit of Arundhati and its Tamil dubbed version, she became popular among Kollywood audience too and the most sought-after heroine in the Southern cine circuit. Though Anushka’s height factor poses problem to our Kollywood heroes, her tantalizing beauty persuades every hero to pair her at least in one film.

Anushka was fortunate to get a grand opening for her re-entry in Tamil through ‘Vettaikkaran’. Though her character in Vettaikkaran did not challenge her acting prowess, she titillated the audience by appearing in skimpy wet clothes in song sequences. Her role in the latest film ‘Singam’ was not just a glamour doll but with substance.

Keeping in view of her image and talent, producers and directors are designing special characters especially for Anushka. Choreographer-turned-actor-turned-director Raghava Lawrence is now directing a bilingual film titled ‘Kanchana’, a sequel of his first directorial venture in Tamil ‘Muni’. While Lawrence is playing the male lead, Anushka and Lakshmi Rai are the two female leads. Though there are two heroines in the film, it seems Anushka would be portraying a very powerful character and her role in the film is not yet revealed and kept secretly by Lawrence.

With the intention to create a strong base for her in Tamil cinema after her successful re-entry, Anushka seems to be very choosy in signing films in Tamil. This versatile actress has cleverly chosen her next Tamil project with successful director Raghava Lawrence, who is also a multi-talented person. Anushka knows “After hard work, the biggest determinant of one’s fortune is being in the right place at the right time.”
