Karthik become father in Tamil Cinema

Karthik, son of veteran actor R.Muthuraman, made his debut in Tamil Cinema ‘Alaigal Oivathillai’ which was a super-duper hit in 1981(Ofcourse it was hit for glamourous appearance of debutant actress Radha and Ilayaraja’s superb songs) . Thereafter Karthik has been well received by tamil audience for his good performances in Nallavanukku Nallavan(1984) in a negative role against Super Star Rajnikanth, Cameo in Mouna Raagam(1986), Agni Natchathiram(1988), Varusham Pathinaaru(1989), Kizhakku Vaasal(1990), Gopura Vaasalile(1991), Ponnumani(1993), Gokulathil Seethai, Ullathai Allitha, etc. He has proved his mettle both in character roles and rib-tickling roles. But after the hit of director Vikraman’s Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen in 1998, his films did not fare well in Kollywood. He has acted as Villain against Satyaraj in Sivalingam IPS which is yet to be released. He entered active politics by joining All India Forward Bloc in 2006 later quitted and founded his own party ‘Naadalum Makkal Katchi’.

Now this 49 years old(born on September 13, 1960) hero has signed to act as father of Jayam Ravi in a new film that has not yet been named. This film is to be directed by Boopathy Pandian and produced by Gnanavel of Studio Green. It is said that Karthik has agreed to do the father character because it suits his style and brings out his acting skills. So, after Satyaraj acted as father of his own son Sibi in film and Ilaya Thilagam Prabu as father in ‘Aa Aaa E Ee’ it is Navarasa Nayagan Karthik’s turn to become father in Tamil Cinema.
