Namitha is fatty, I am meaty - Hema Malini @ Sruthi Prakash

She debuted in ‘Indiravizha’ with the name Hemamalini but after the film’s mega failure she reverted to her original name Sruthi Prakash. As you all know, while Tollywood audience like ‘Slim Structures’ like Ileyana and Trisha, Kollywood audience love only ‘Fleshy Figures’ like Namitha, Jyotika, Nayanthara, etc. Recently, a leading Tamil weekly magazine interviewed Sruthi and asked her whether she is a competitor to Namitha? Sruthi replied humbly that Namitha’s range and route are different and do not compare her with Namitha. “Physically Namitha is ‘fatty’. Though I am ‘meaty’, structurally I am cutey and neaty”, she added. (She is Complimenting Namitha or Criticizing her? I don’t know! Any guess?)

Sruthi's third and forthcoming Tamil film to hit the screens is ‘Guru Sishyan’ starring Satyaraj and Sundar.C and directed by Shakthi Chidambaram. Besides, she is currently acting in a Kannada film ‘Aata Aadu Aata’, a remake of Jeevan, Malavika and Sonia Agarwal starrer Tamil film ‘Thiruttu Payale’ and a Tamil film ‘Vidiyal’ with Sarathkumar and Sneha in the lead.

I felt Sruthi is capable of handling both homely characters and also glamorous roles as she is not only curvaceous but also having a very cute face and beautiful eyes that can deliver emotions. But she has been establishing herself as ‘Junior Namitha’ by portraying glamorous characters alone. However, her principle, ‘glamour’ first and rest all next, would definitely yield her lots of films and she would definitely overtake Namitha soon!
