Trisha replaces Shriya Saran

After the continuous success of Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Pollathavan, Dhanush’s latest pongal release film ‘Padikkathavan’ yielded moderate collections even though Sun Pictures gave a Mega Opening for the film with their advertisements.

The next venture of Dhanush is not yet named but it is being produced by Kathiresan from Pollathavan Producer Group and the film is directed by Vetrimaran. After ‘Thiruvilayadal Aarambam’, scintillating Shreya was booked as female lead for the film opposite Dhanush. But the director did not utilize the call-sheet of Shreya as he could not start the film as scheduled. Considering that her dates may clash with her other projects Kanthasamy (pairing Vikram) and Jaggubhai (pairing Sarathkumar), Shreya voluntarily wanted to sign-off from Dhanush film. She was even ready to return the advance given to her for the film. But the producer and director did not agree and they lodged complaint against Shreya in producers association. Shreya registered her grievance in actors association. After all these happenings, director has not started the film. So, Shreya quitted from the project. Now, ‘Saamy Maami’ Trisha is booked in place of Shreya as heroine of the film. I would say it is a better choice because Shreya acted only in one film in 2008 that too special appearance in ‘Indralohathil Na Azhagappan’ after Sivaji and ATM in 2007. But Trisha is fully loaded and ready to perform after her recent hit ‘Abhiyum Naanum’. Both of them have 3 more tamil films in hand which are under filming now.

Oh! I have forgotten to give justification of the title. Trisha is born on May 4, 1983(she is 25 now) and Shreya is born on September 11, 1982(she is 26 now). So, younger the curve you get to see is cooler to watch. Enjoy!
